Oxley COLD DISTILLED London Dry Gin 47,00 % 0,70 lt.This gin is produced by a "cold distillation technique", which is very unusual. In a normal gin distillation, the botanicals must be brought to about 78°C until they start boiling and release all their flavors. Cold distillation, also known as vacuum distillation, creates a vacuum so that the botanicals come to the boil at 25-40°C. Thus the botanicals remain intact and only the alcohol is distilled. Oxley is distilled at -5 °C - which is extremely low even with vacuum distillation. But this is exactly what makes this gin special. For eight years scientists worked on this method until it was ready for use. In 2009, this gin was first brought to market by the owner Bacardi. This gin is only produced in small batches. 14 different botanicals, including juniper grapefruit, lemons, vanilla, aniseed, liquorice roots, cocoa, nutmeg and coriander are used for production. The bottle design is also simple and elegant at the same time. The elongated bottle is slightly spiced up with a green leather strap that is tied around the bottle. The bottle stands with up to the lower third in a small silver container.Texts and Images From: Spirit Italia
