La storia di Martell inizia già nel 1700, Jean Martell si recò a Parigi per produrre un cognac dalla migliore eau de vie. Dopo la sua morte nel 1753, sua moglie riprese le visioni del suo defunto marito e le mise in pratica. Rachel Martell gestì l'azienda con grande successo e il cognac divenne rapidamente noto in America e in Inghilterra. Oggi, il cognac Martell è un simbolo del gusto lussuoso. Il Cordon Bleu è stato progettato e imbottigliato da Edouard Martell nel 1912. Un cognac leggendario della casa Martell.
