"The weather this year was cool which the estate said produced wines rich in acidity. Carmine Festa gave it a 3-4-star rating out of five. The color was a truly youthful, lively and lucent ruby-garnet and the initial aroma was once again distinct and showed no sign of reduction. There were scents of cherry and dried fruit and the bouquet was very young although not that complex. With breathing a pleasing mineral/smoky note emerged. The salt and acidity stood out in the mouthfeel with a flavor of cinchona at the center of the mouth and the finish tended to be dry despite the freshness. The persistence of the aftertaste was wonderful. An excellent table wine. The wine is no longer available retail."

"In 2000 the growing season began early and the high temperatures and prolonged drought during the summer caused some minor problems due to the lack of water. Nevertheless, the grapes were healthy and very rich. An exceptional vintage. The incredibly dark and youthful ruby color made the wine seem 6-8 years old. When opened the aroma was distinct and showed no sign of reduction. The aroma was also very youthful with scents of red fruit jam and a hint of corky wood that was not very fine, fresh earth and tomato sauce. The mouthfeel had a touch of freshness, dry tannins at the center of the mouth and the finish was bold and dry with a licorice aftertaste. A very young wine, bold but not tense, which will benefit further bottle aging. The wine is no longer available retail."

"There was little information on the weather but the winery considered this vintage to be an excellent one and enologist Carmine Festa gave it a rating of four out of five stars. The color was a well-intact, oily ruby-garnet and the bouquet was again clear and showed no sign of reduction with its scents of red fruit and dried fruit and while the alcohol was only hinted at, the aroma soon flattened out. The attack of the mouthfeel was elegant, dry at the center of the palate and while the finish was elegant, it was not that long. The aftertaste was finer yet not as long as the 2000 and a bit short on contrast (even after breathing long). The drinkability was good. The wine is no longer available retail. ."
