The concentrated palate is smooth and robust, but it also boasts a weightless quality, delivering dried black cherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, anise, dried date and pipe tobacco alongside firm polished tannins and fresh acidity. A mineral note closes the finish. This is the best Sfursat 5 Stelle I've tried so far. Drink 2018-2028."

The color is a bright garnet and the edge is only slightly brick-red. The bouquet is very complex with bottle-aged scents of tar, smoked wood and dried mushrooms together with those of spice and raspberries preserved in alcohol. The mouthfeel is full, rich and defined, with velvety and intact tannins, an excellent acidity and an elegant body. The finish is very long and subtle."

"Like one's first love, one never forgets their first vintage. In this case, it was a wine from an exceptional harvest when everything went for the best. It did not rain much, there were great temperature variations between day and night and the raisinating phase was excellent in a cold and dry climate. The result today is a wine with a clear, garnet color and evolved aromas with notes of tar, licorice and leather as well as a hint of black cherry preserved in spirits. The mouthfeel is taut, almost youthful, with an excellent, refreshing acidity and silky tannins."

Here the color is an intense and bright garnet and the aromas are complex, very Burgundy-esque, defined, with notes of wild strawberry, currant, cassis and spice with some boisé hints in the background. The flavor is delicious with fine, relaxed tannins and an excellent acidity upholding a body that is not enormous but extremely elegant and in no way invasive. The finish is subtle but has an excellent persistence."

The color is an intense and youthful ruby-garnet while the aroma is obviously fruity due to the wine extreme youth. There are scents of prune, raspberry, cassis and black cherry preserved in spirits. The tannins are initially rough in the mouthfeel but are certain to settle in the future, while the body is excellent, refreshed by an excellent acidity and a warm, wrapping and very long finish."

"The weather was fairly good this year although harvest came a bit late, beginning around October 10. The climate was also excellent while the grapes were drying out, cold and dry. Here the color is an intense and bright garnet which becomes brick-red on the edge. The attack of the aroma is almost Burgundy-like with scents of wild strawberry and currant, also in gelatin form, followed by some evident notes of alcohol and those of canned peaches together with some balsamic accents. The mouthfeel is very balanced with an excellent, refreshing and well-integrated acidity, hints of tannins and an elegant and persistent finish."

The wine has a bright and nicely intense garnet color which on the edge veers towards an antique pink. The bouquet is intense, heady and penetrating with a light boisé note and scents of cherries preserved in spirits and licorice accents. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, rich and yet nicely balanced by the acidity and pronounced tannins that are almost youthful. The finish is warm and persistent."

This has a bright and intense garnet color and the bouquet is very fruity with clear scents of raspberry, black cherry, also in alcohol, red prunes and a jammy note from raisinated grapes. The mouthfeel has a lot of body and is warm, rich and bold with tannins held in check by the alcohol/sugar component, a good acidity and a very persistent finish."

The color is a bright garnet with an antique pink edge. The aroma here is a little fruitier and simpler than the other versions but is still immediate and enjoyable with notes of raspberry and yellow peach while those of alcohol are more like those of a wine than a 'passito'. The mouthfeel is warm and balanced with just hints of tannins and a nice acidity making it almost easy to drink."
