Abbinamenti: Figlio di un'annata di notevole spessore, presenta un colore rubino intenso con sfumature violacee e una concentrazione notevole; il bouquet propone note di ciliegia e mora in confettura, toni speziati con richiami alla cannella, al cacao, alla liquirizia, pressoché assente la componente floreale, la sensazione è di morbidezza più che di freschezza. Al palato è ben saldo nella struttura, con un tannino puntuto e ancora piuttosto crudo, la freschezza è più evidente ma piuttosto slegata dal tessuto fruttato, che appare meno ricco di quanto ci si aspetterebbe da questo millesimo, tanto che il finale risulta un po' magro e asciugante. Il vino è indubbiamente nella prima fase evolutiva e chiede tempo, in quanto a personalità mi sembra rappresentare un compromesso fra uno stile moderno e un carattere più chiantigiano, sebbene gli manchi quella capacità di far vibrare le corde della piacevolezza e della serbevolezza che un sangiovese 2006 è certamente in grado di offrire. Vino tecnicamente ben fatto ma che non emoziona.
