"This is a thoroughbred with a classic ruby color, intact, deep and bright. The bouquet is extremely clean and intense with a fruit component still intense and almost youthful: blackberry, ripe cherry, morello cherry and then spices. There are also come nice scents of tobacco, graphite and eucalyptus. The flavor is one of rare elegance and potency, with tannins that are excellently integrated in a quite muscular body well-upheld by a refreshing acidic vein. The way it sits at the center of the mouth is excellent and the progression produces a finish that is of rare length and depth."

"Another gem from the Parentini-Pagli team with a classic aroma of yellow peach that is so clear and intense that it can get the better of the lovely, standard vein of red and black fruits. Even if the wine is young the wood is measured with a slightly smoky accent and some elegant spice. The taste is quite extraordinary with a wonderful impact that is in no way sweet thanks to great tannins and an excellent acidic streak that elegantly holds the wine up. The finish is superb, bold and persistent without ever getting out of line."

"An excellent bottle with a color that is very intense with dark nuances nicely held together. The Cabernet is recognizable in the scents of citron, even candied, and graphite that are quite distinct and fresh. There is also some evident and well-defined fruit, with a give-and-take between small, black fruits like currant and very fresh cherry that ensures it does not become too sweet. The taste is excellent with extreme balance: a vigorous attack without any sweetness that only later reveals rare plumpness and agility. The acidic streak is excellent and upholds the wine's potency while the tannins are nicely settled. The finish has a rare persistence."

"This vintage 1995 was a lovely surprise and showed how well this wine can age and how good it can be even when the weather has been hot. The color is a nice ruby with some garnet reflections. The aroma is intense and clean, dominated by slightly evolved scents typical of Sangiovese, like sweet tobacco and yellow peach, over a background that is a little more Cabernet-ish with blackberry and a bit of graphite. The taste is still very fresh with settled and elegant tannins, while the progression is vigorous and elegant at the same time. The aftertaste is excellent with eucalyptus and leather."

"Another 'hot' year but this time it was dealt with certainly better than in previous ones. The bouquet has fruity scents, a little jammy, with cherry, currant and a touch of bergamot. Since the wood is quite delicate it is not too spicy. The only thing lacking are some fresh and vegetal notes. The flavor is excellent. Bold without showing any excessive ripeness. The tannins are soft, nicely integrated, creating a relaxed and rotund drop that has a substantial finish with a nice persistence."

The flavor is lovely with a nice acidity and tannins that while evident are extremely polished, making it nice and balanced without being muscular. In the aftertaste there is an excellent contribution from the Cabernet with graphite and raspberry jello."

The aroma is warm but not sticky with clear jammy scents of blackberry and cherry, blackcurrant and mulberry. There is also a certain woodiness. The taste is intense, soft with an amazing acidic streak for that year. Soft and captivating tannins hold the drop together for a composed finish with few concessions."

"Many may not agree with my evaluation, above all the winery's proprietor. The color is so deep it is almost bluish, gloomy. The nose has some very warm scents, slightly overripe, prune jam, cherries under spirits, candied citron and accents of banana with chocolate. The flavor is very bold and compact, with tannins that are still thick and a bit biting, which inhibits a proper progression. The finish is certainly compact and of excellent length even if the wine seems a little thick. I would have preferred greater harmony. In other words, this is an extremely muscular wine, very American orientated ."

The bouquet also denotes a greater presence of Cabernet with an ample amounts of scents that are more green, citron and bergamot, a touch of graphite and only at the end some cherry. The taste is elegant, nicely upheld by the acidity and tannins that are harmonious and compact. The finish is persistent and consistent."

The flavor is quite distinct even if a little heavy, with an acidity that struggles to uphold the taste. The tannins, while rich, are certainly dusty and not well-integrated. The finish holds back and is not very broad. In the aftertaste there is some dried bramble and a streak of wilted flowers and even if the persistence is good it is not full enough."
